Impact

Speech-language therapy works… and lasts a lifetime. At Nebraska's RiteCare Clinics, we have seen the life-changing impact of our clinical services on thousands of children. It is estimated that for each dollar spent on speech-therapy for a child, up to $10 will be saved on remedial education or social services. Children who can communicate go on to lead a healthy childhood as lifelong learners.

There is good evidence (American Academy of Family Physicians) that speech-language therapy is helpful, particularly for children with expressive language disorder. The highly-respected global health authority Cochrane concluded that for children receiving speech-language therapy, parent-provided therapy under the guidance of a clinician, is as effective as clinician-provided therapy.

The benefits of speech therapy for children is clear, and that is why it is the mission of the Scottish Rite Foundation of Nebraska and Nebraska’s 2,000 Scottish Rite Freemasons to underwrite therapy and services for any child in Nebraska who needs RiteCare speech therapy.
